HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL REPORT
Jun. 18th, 2007 05:58 amI saw High School Musical yesterday with
sutafairu at Aoyama Theatre in Shibuya. Just to start off, I have to say that Koyama has been and still the most naturally gifted actor in NEWS. I felt like I was watching him as he always is. He didn't try to put on a character, he was just himself. Even his little twitches that he likes to put in when he sings and dance were all there. It was surreal as hell to watch him in person. I never though in a million years that it would happen.
The play flew by so quickly, there are hardly any details to give. Nami and Koyama are well suited for each other, they had a wonderfully natural chemistry on stage. The scene where they sing The Start of Something New (Reprise) was really beautiful. Nami was at the top of a ladder and Koyama climbed it as he sang and when he reached the stop they stared into each other's eyes and then hugged. It was such a *sigh* moment.
The kiss was amazing, too. The best kiss I've seen in anything over here in Japan in a while. Afterwards they didn't immediately move away from each other, they really took a moment to follow through and make us all believe they were in love. Prease to not throw rocks at me, but I think they would make quite a cute couple in real life.
The ensemble was really strong. When I wasn't staring non-stop at Koyama, I was really enjoying how talented they all were. Ensembles are almost always the strongest members of the cast. After years of experience as an ensemble member in a lot of plays, I have a certain appreciation for them. XDDD
One of the funny things about the pamphlet is that they named their top seven artists. Koyama's were: 1. NEWS XDD 2. Nami Tamaki (Gabrielle) 3. STARS 4. S.E.S. (Shoo/ Taylor) 5. dream (Yu Hasabe/ Sharpay) 6. PaniCrew (Go Ueki/ Ryan) 7. Kentarou Hayami (Coach Bolton)
Two words: Lovable Kiss-ass XDDDD
At the end, Koyama did quite a few bows, one of which allowed for us fangirls to scream, "Kei-chan!!!!!" Trust me, I was among them. I was standing and waving and screaming at him for all of you. <3333

I had such a great time. Unforgettable.
