Koyama 『PON!』interview Nov 4 - screencaps and summary

Last Thursday Koyama appeared on the NTV morning variety show PON! to discuss news every, Fighting Man and his Room 0 play.

This is an overview of what was a highly entertaining interview - screencaps and a brief summary by the ever wonderful daelite

This was a fun and adorable interview.

It starts with the host was talking about how he often sees Koyama on Thursdays in the hallway before news every-- Koyama is getting to work around the time he's leaving. They always say hello to each other but Koyama comments the host never looks directly at him. Girl co-host agrees and then the host gets into a discussion about being overwhelmed by Koyama's "newscaster" aura and not wanting to look directly at girls before they have their makeup on in fear of being rude (lol).

They then start talking about the challenges of being a newscaster etc. It's a lot different than variety shows and Koyama comments it's difficult to get what you experience across to the viewers well. Host asks Koyama what he does to be a better newscaster and he mentions always watching Sho on ZERO as well as reading the newspaper everyday, sometimes looking up words he doesn't know. The host talks about how he's subscribed to Yomiuri but almost never reads it and just recycles the paper or uses it for his dog's toilet XD; He's really impressed Koyama reads the newspaper and tells Koyama to take him on as an apprentice (lol).

A bit of Fighting Man talk and the host comments that he loves NEWS songs because they're often so positive and catchy. Host starts trying to sing WEEEEK but messes up the lyrics and the female co-hosts make fun of him.

They then eat pears (nashi) and Koyama comments that when you buy pears from the store you never know if they'll be really good or ... bad so it's kind of up to chance. Luckily today's were good XD

Koyama then talks about getting to go to Korea and met Kusanagi when he was a junior. That influenced him a lot to get interested in Korea and Kusanagi was really kind and talked to him a lot.

They finish with the promo poster and some talk about Koyama's upcoming Room 0 play.
